PSVs/PCVs (Buses, Coaches, Minibuses)

The Parish Council would like to advise all bus and coach operators that the main entrances to the village are signed by Gloucestershire County Council Highways as ‘local buses only’.  This is due to the large number of pedestrians and vehicles in the village centre and is for safety reasons and to ensure that the area does not become gridlocked with traffic at busy times.

Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) of 5th July 2012 details the restrictions and areas covered. The restriction applies to buses, coaches and minibuses operating for hire and reward with more than 8 passenger seats.  A copy of the order is attached below.

Please ensure your drivers are aware of the restrictions prior to any visits being arranged and that suitable arrangements are in place to unload and pick up passengers.  Permission to enter the restriction area will need to be obtained in advance from GCC Highways.  Any drivers who contravene these highway restrictions will be in breach of traffic law.

Thank you for your consideration in ensuring that Bourton-on-the-Water is an enjoyable place to live, work and visit.
