Parish and Town Councils have been given the power under various pieces of legislation to make grants to different organisations and bodies and the Parish Council therefore sets aside a sum within its annual budget to provide grants. These grants are subject to general legislation, but it is usual for local Councils to set out additional guidelines for the consideration of such applications. Our current procedure is listed below and it sets out our current policy governing Grant Applications. The policy is revised annually and each year’s policy is posted on the website as and when available.
NB It was agreed by Council in December 2022 and December 2023 that there would be no provision for Large Grants during the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25. It is hoped that this can be reinstated in future years, depending on budgetary provision. The Grants Policy below has been updated to reflect this amendment.
Please note that the deadline for receipt of grant applications is 20th August. Local groups and organisations are encouraged to put this deadline in their diary for every year's applications.
Organisations wishing to submit an application for a grant are asked to use the form provided below.
