Bourton-on-the-Water Parish Council
Cllr Lynda Hicks
I have lived in Mousetrap Lane in Bourton for 28 years and before in Lower Slaughter where I was born in 1958. I attended the local school, then known as Bourton Vale Secondary Modern. Prior to moving to Bourton, I served on Lower Slaughter Parish Council and chaired it for two years before getting married and starting a family. I am married to Mike and have two children, James 28 and Anna 25, who both still live at home.
With both my son and daughter still at home, I'm very concerned about the lack of affordable housing in the village and surrounding area. I believe to keep the village alive we need to make sure those who want to stay, work and raise their own families should be able to.
I feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful part of the UK and fully understand why so many people want to visit and enjoy our lovely village; I also recognise that there is a great need to protect what we have.
I currently sit on four committees: Planning, Burials & Allotments, Playing Fields and Community Centre. I am also Youth Club Portfolio Holder, reporting to Council on a monthly basis.
